UK CHP Project
Built a generic financial close corporate finance model for a major power generation company providing CHP solutions. This included the base case and sensitivities, taxation, accounting and funding. This included scoping, specification, documentation, and training.

Blind Ex Services Persons Strategic Plan
Prepared the 20 year financial projections for a Blind Ex Service Persons charity.
This included the risk management of the organizations old model. The preparation of sensitivity cases. This included model handover and training.

Private Schools Business Plan
Undertook the financial analysis and modelling for the refinancing of two private schools in Fulham, London. The work involved the analysis of the existing business plans provided by the businesses, the construction of two models in order to forecast the financial position over 20 years under certain base case assumptions together with the preparation of a number of sensitivities and scenarios.

Outsourcing Company Business Planning
Undertook various financial planning, analysis and modelling tasks for a company specializing in customer billing and relationship systems / solutions and outsourcing contracts. This included the preparation of cash flow forecasts. The review of an existing financial model and the preparation of a 80 page specification for its redevelopment. The functionality, design limitations and business growth plans were included ie the expansion into overseas markets and the taxation and exchange effects in addition to the full financial picture (including cash flow forecasts, P&Ls , Balance Sheets, KPIs and customer profitability. Debugged and reconciled existing forecast balance sheets. Advised on an improved financial forecasting, procedural and modelling approach.

Major Housing Association Business Planning Model
Built a flexible model for both business planning and fund raising purposes. The assignment included preparing user documentation,training, client presentations, ITT preparation , short listing and selection of model auditors.

Major Broadcasting Company Licence Renewal
Led the full scope model review / audit (including UK GAAP / statutory accounting) as part of a wider assignment involving the renewal of a broadcasting company’s licence. We provided our opinion to the ITC. Prior to commencing the review it was necessary to develop a strategy in order to facilitate a smoother and lower cost review process. This included removing non value added redundant code and advising the clients modelling staff on data book preparation.

Major UK Cable Group
Led the full model due diligence review for lenders to this major cable group seeking £500 million expansion funding.

Major Motor Racing Events Refinancing
Led the full scope model review / audit (including UK GAAP / statutory accounting) as part of a wider assignment involving the raising of senior debt refinancing for a major motor racing events organization. We provided our opinion to Lehman’s and JP Morgan.

European Power Rental Business Opportunity
Led the model review part of a wider assignment involving the evaluation of a joint venture between several parties.Prior to commencing the review it was necessary to develop a strategy in order to facilitate a smoother and lower cost review process. This included the removal of redundant code, debugging coding errors and advising the client modeling staff on data book preparation.

Refinancing of a major UK Power Station
Led the full scope model review / audit (including UK GAAP / statutory accounting) for the purposes of the £650 million refinancing of a major UK power station on behalf of Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank.

UK Industrial Products Group Acquisition
Led the limited review of the acquisition of an industrial product group on behalf of the potential lender.The purpose of the exercise was to identify fundamental errors and weaknesses prior to the full model audit, which was to be scheduled in around 3 months. The work plan allowed the identification of fundamental errors and a key action plan for the bank’s modeller.

New England Electricity System Acquisition
Led the on line review of National Grids £11 billion acquisition of NEES Boston. The assignment gave on line support to the valuation team.

British Energy Acquisition
Led the limited and full scope review / audit (including UK GAAP / statutory accounting) for the purposes of the acquisition of two coal power generation plants.

Property Development Group
Built a 5 year rolling forecast, property appraisal and monthly reporting financial model for a company in the property development sector. The model was visual basic programmed with menus, automated downloads from the accounting system and automatic importing for up to 300 projects. The model was used for internal financial management and lenders purposes. This included taxation, accounting and financing, model documentation, training and handover.
The model had the benefit of automating time consuming routines in addition to providing an insight to the organizations financial viability at a consolidated and project level.
